Dolomite Roller Grinding Mill is a kind of mining machinery that uses the interaction of grinding roller and grinding ring to grind dolomite particles into dolomite powder with fineness from 150 mesh to 3000 mesh.
What is Dolomite?
Dolomite also named dolomite rock, dolostone or dolomitic rock. Dolomite is a sedimentary carbonate rock that contains a high percentage of the mineral dolomite, CaMg(CO3)2.
The dolomite crystal is rhombohedral, the crystal face is often curved into a saddle shape, the three groups of rhombohedral cleavage are completely, brittle, the Mohs hardness is 3.5-4, and the polycrystalline twin is common. Aggregates are usually granular and massive. In dolomite, elements such as iron and manganese often replace magnesium. When the number of iron or manganese atoms exceeds that of magnesium, it is called iron dolomite or manganese dolomite. Pure dolomite is cloud-like white, sometimes gray-green, gray-yellow, pink, black and other tones due to other elements and impurities, and brown after weathering.
Dolomite and calcite look very similar in appearance, both are the main constituent minerals of carbonate rocks and are often associated with each other, but can be distinguished by their reaction with acids. Calcite reacts significantly with weak acids, releasing carbon dioxide and creating bubbles and fizzing sounds (effervescence). Dolomite hardly reacts with cold dilute hydrochloric acid, and mineral powder reacts slowly in cold dilute hydrochloric acid.
What is dolomite used for?
Dolomite is a non-metallic mineral with a wide range of uses. It can be used as the refractory inner layer of the reformer used in steelmaking, slagging agent, cement raw material, glass flux, kiln industry, fertilizer, building and decorative stone, paint, etc. Various uses such as pesticides and medicine.
Which industries can dolomite be used for?
1. Refractory
Dolomite is one of the important raw materials of basic refractory materials, mainly used in steelmaking converter lining, open hearth furnace, electric furnace wall, and can also be used in thermal equipment such as refining equipment outside the furnace and cement kiln. Dolomite can be used to make dolomite bricks. When dolomite bricks are used as furnace linings, the method of spraying dolomite gunning materials can significantly improve the life of the furnace.
2. Magnesium smelting industry
Dolomite is also an important raw material for the production of metal magnesium. Dolomite is mainly used for smelting magnesium through electrolysis and silicothermic reduction. The electrolysis process is complicated and difficult to obtain economic benefits, so it is not suitable for small magnesium plants to use this method.
3. Production of magnesium compounds
Dolomite can produce magnesium carbonate, magnesium oxide, magnesium sulfate, magnesium hydroxide and other magnesium compounds. Magnesium carbonate includes: light magnesium carbonate, light spherical magnesium carbonate and light transparent magnesium carbonate. Light magnesium carbonate is the basic raw material of inorganic chemical industry, mainly used in the manufacture of magnesium salts, magnesium oxide, fireproof materials, and can also be used in shipbuilding, boilers , glass, pigment, medicine and other industries.
4. Production of paint
Dolomite can be used to make a new type of extender pigment. Its chemical composition is stable, and it has the advantages of weather resistance, anti-settling, high whiteness, low cost, and unique technology, which can be used in various paints. The coating produced can reduce the dosage of titanium dioxide, has high hardness, good hand feeling and strong adhesion, and its application effect is better than that of heavy calcium carbonate.
The production process of dolomite powder?
The main part of the ultrafine pulverizer is composed of the main engine, the reducer, the analyzer, the fan, the bypass powder collector, the maintenance platform and the electric control cabinet. The auxiliary machine part consists of jaw crusher, bucket elevator, electromagnetic vibrating feeder, storage bin and so on.
The grinding chamber mainly used for grinding dolomite powder is composed of 3/4 layers of grinding rings and 21/24/28/32 grinding rollers.
The main engine motor drives the main shaft and the turntable to rotate through the reducer, and the roller pins on the edge of the turntable drive dozens of grinding rollers to roll in the grinding ring raceway.
The large dolomite material is crushed into small particles by the hammer crusher, and then sent to the storage bin by the elevator, and then passed through the vibrating feeder and the inclined feeding pipe, and the material is evenly sent to the upper part of the turntable.
The dolomite particles are scattered to the periphery of the circle under the action of centrifugal force, and fall into the raceway of the grinding ring. They are impacted, rolled and ground by the ring rollers. The outside air is sucked into the machine, and the pulverized dolomite powder is brought into the classifier.
The rotating impeller in the powder separator makes the coarse material fall back for regrinding, and the fine powder that meets the requirements enters the cyclone powder collector with the airflow and is discharged from the discharge valve at the lower part of the powder separator, which is the finished product, while the airflow with a small amount of fine dust passes through After being purified by the pulse dust collector, it is discharged through a fan and a muffler.
